Chimera is a Heavyweight thwackbot robot and is named after the mythical creature of the same name that is said to have the head of a lion, the body of a goat and the tail of a serpent. The original Chimera was purchased in 2015 by Jordan Mann and has undergone extensive rebuilding to strengthen the chassis and to add more power to the wheels. Chimera statistics are:

  • Weight: 72.5kg.
  • Height: 50cm.
  • Length: 120cm.
  • Width: 80cm.
  • Speed: 5mph.
  • Year built: rebuilt 2016.

The drive for Chimera comes from 2x wheel chair motors connected to 2 standard car wheels, and is powered by 2x 12v Powerline sealed lead acid batteries. It has interchangeable weapons with the primary being a 3 headed spiked shaft, able to inflict damage through spinning on the spot or coming down on top of opponents. Chimera is primarily constructed from recycled parts from the BriSCA Formula 2 Stock car that team member Philip Mann races, and the original Chimera robot.
